“How am I meant to accept the fact that the thing most likely to kill me in this world is me?”
Alexander Wolfe 2025
Men in the UK, aged 20–49 are more likely to die from suicide than anything else - a distressing statistic, profoundly and intimately communicated in ‘Everythinglessness’ - an illuminative and humanising new album by solo artist Alexander Wolfe.
Raised in Woolwich in the 1990s - a cultural wasteland and a far cry from gentrified modern London, Wolfe took creative escape in music. His artistry today is clearly rooted in these personal struggles and the shared experiences of many young people navigating the complexities of modern life.
Known for his emotive sound and beautifully layered compositions, Wolfe’s semi-autobiographical album is a cathartic exploration of mental health, emotional vulnerability, masculinity and ultimately hope.
After years of navigating depression, combined with anxiety and ADHD, Alexander hit rock bottom in 2023 with a stay at a mental health rehab unit, but it was there that he began to transform his pain into something profound, to turn the darkness into light, channeling his struggles into the creation of 'Everythinglessness', a profoundly personal album that is both haunting and hopeful.
His sound is meticulously crafted, combining atmospheric instrumentation with raw, poetic lyrics, creating a record that feels both cinematic and intimate.
‘Everythinglessness’ takes listeners on an introspective narrative journey, track-by-track - covering subjects as profound as the premature death of a parent, young relationships, the pressures of societal expectations, the overwhelming weight of mental health issues and finally finding peace amongst the turbulence.
The album is also an exploration of masculinity. What does it means to be a man in 2025? The pressure to stay strong, and avoid “weakness” raise big questions: What is strength? What is weakness? Why are so many men struggling in silence?
Each song serves as a reflection on pivotal moments in life : his upbringing, the loss of loved ones, first love, and the often stifling weight of trying to find one’s place in the world — particularly for young men who may feel disconnected from the conversation around mental health.
Wolfe’s vulnerability is his strength; through his music he offers a relatable insight for many young people who experience mental health struggles but seldom discuss them.
With ‘Everythinglessness’ Wolfe establishes himself not only as an extremely talented songwriter and producer, but also as an advocate for breaking the silence surrounding mental health and the struggles of young men in today’s world.
